Apply to Adopt this Underdog
Gretta was found on a nearby First Nations community in pretty rough shape. She had it pretty hard coming up as she was found starving and emaciated. She was given a 1 out of 9 on the body condition scale (1 being the thinnest and 9 being overweight). She has steadily gained weight under the care of the good folks at the CHS and is looking great now! Not much is known about her life history although it's possible that she may have suffered some abuse or some sort of trauma in the past as she is a bit timid and nervous around new people and in new situations. She will need to go to an owner with experienced dog owner who can help her overcome her nervousness.
As stated above, Gretta can be nervous around strangers and unfamiliar situations. Other than that she's a real sweet dog that gets along very well with other dogs and kids although she may not be well suited to a home with younger children due to her nervousness. CHS believes she would do well in a home with other dogs. She also requires an owner with an active lifestyle as she needs regular excercise and play time. She'll be required to attend the CHS's Polite Pooches class with her new owner to work on her timidity.
