When found and rescued from a northern Saskatchewan community in August of 2013, poor Ebbe was very pregnant and had severe chemical burns over most of her back (see photos). She had never known the luxury of indoor living and had never experienced human love or kindness. She was homeless, hungry, destitute and in severe pain. Through the kindness of the good folks at BEDR and her own indomitable spirit, Ebbe has come through and has healed from her wounds. Her burns are now healed and she has successfully raised and weaned her puppies.
Ebbe is good with the other dogs in her foster home and at daycare and is very friendly with people. She takes treats gently from people of all ages and knows how to wait patiently for them. She is a medium energy dog so won't require as much stimulation and excercise as some higher energy dogs would. She can be left loose alone at home and won't get into mischief. She came to BEDR with some separation anxiety but has largely overcome it. She still isn't a huge fan of her crate and has learned some basic manners and obedience commands. All in all, she sounds like a pretty great dog and would likely make a great pet for just about anyone.
