Phineas was rescued from a shelter when his time was up and he was to be euthanized. He suffers from an illness called Cervical spondylomyelopathy (CSM), or Wobbler Syndrome which Dobermans are somewhat succeptible to. Surgery is an option for Phineas but that it is not 100% guaranteed that it will work. For now he is on steroid medications and they seem to be helping. He does not appear to be in pain, has lots of good mobility and the effects of the disorder are not too dibilitating for him at present. He will need some extra vetrinary care over the years and will periodically need to be put on some medications from time to time but not all the time. Phineas is a very good natured and affectionate dog who gets along well with other dogs, cats and is excellent with children. He is a gentle and super affectionate giant. He has no behavioural issues and would make a great pet for anyone who can be understanding of his health issues.
